We took a weekend road trip to Lakeland to check out this year’s dollhouse and miniatures show and it was well worth the drive! In this video, we recap day 1 and do a mini show n’ tell of the tiny treasures we got.
Shows are always such a great place to meet new artisans, chat with fellow miniature enthusiasts, and get inspired on the next petite project. The Lakeland Cub always puts on a great show with amazing vendors, displays, and they even give out free cake on day 2 – score!
They are also very kid friendly, so bringing a mini-me is highly encouraged. They have a make n’ take craft and a special kids-only table filled with miniature goodies at a huge discount (aka practically free). Makes me wish I was ten again for sure.
This year, we were joined on day 2 by one of my best friends, Ashley Cassens, who is an uber talented artist and actually enjoys painting in all scales. Her daughter, Merritt, practically stole the show and almost needed a U-Haul to carry all of her miniature finds. At only four years old, she is an avid collector and I like to think it all started with the dollhouse I created for her last year. Chase made out pretty nicely too as this club really knows how to entice the next generation of miniaturists.
If you are ever in the area, you should definitely swing by and check out this show. Or better yet, join the club! You can find more information on their website http://lakelandminiatureguild.com/
Without a doubt, we will definitely be back to the Lakeland Dollhouse Show!
